World's first 24 hrs global marine TV channel

MarineBiz TV, the world’s first 24 hrs channel will be launched by May 1, 2007, focusing on all areas of marine and it will become the single point of contact for all marine activities and information worldwide. MarineBiz TV is to be the first global maritime channel and is a venture of Aries Marine, Dubai, which is the largest ship design consultancy firm in the Middle East. It will provide the viewers a complete insight into the maritime world using state-of-the-art broadcast infrastructure and information gathering technology.



On the sidelines of the Mumbai International Boat Show in Mumbai in the last week of February this year, Shyam Kurup, project manager for MarineBiz TV said, “We will be the world’s first and unrivalled global coverage and free to air channel, specialized and focused on maritime markets worldwide.”

“Providing facility for immediate receiving and delivery of news, we will guide the sailing ships through our special satellite tie-ups and help marine business to penetrate the underdeveloped and potential markets with the help of maritime professionals,” he stressed, focusing on travel and job opportunities.

This channel aims at providing a single point of contact for all marine activities and information worldwide, propagating and helping in creating a safe maritime world, becoming an educative and informative media for the whole maritime industry, making future professionals aware of the opportunities and developments in maritime industry and providing a definitive market place for buyers while presenting the brand owners with innovative new ways to market their services and products. It will cover docks, ports, news, travelogue and tourism, including marine destinations, cruise tourism, marine museums, job opportunities and much more.

The coverage will be worldwide and the company has already launched a related website on January 1, 2007. The website titled www.marinebiztv.com is the online arm of the MarineBiz TV, and it aims at bringing the complete marine world to the desktop. The Web TV shall provide full-fledged support to the satellite channel and ensure that the ideas and visions of the channel reach the whole world.

The key features of the channel shall be specialized focus on upmarket maritime hubs, clubbing with marine communities around the world, parallel coverage on the Web TV, acknowledgement by maritime institutes as a reliable information source, penetration of underdeveloped and potential markets and special tie-ups for the availability of the channel on sailing ships.

The satellite TV, covering Asia, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Australia, will be launched on May 1, and the other areas shall come under coverage by August 1. In the second phase it will also diversify into eight different languages.
